Mark Gordon
Senior Analyst
Mark Gordon has almost 40 years of international experience in the mineral exploration and resources equities industry, working in a wide range of commodities and jurisdictions. Mark has been a senior resources analyst for Independent Investment Research, Taylor Collison, and Breakaway Research.
As an analyst, he has worked on the technical and financial evaluation of a broad range of commodities, including bulk commodities (coal and iron ore) and fertiliser minerals, in addition to base and precious metals in a wide range of countries. Other commodities covered include graphite, tungsten, mineral sands and vanadium.
His work as an analyst has operated in parallel with his ongoing geological work. This has included carrying out due diligence on projects in East Africa, South America, Mongolia and the "FSU Stans", as well as exploration program planning, management and reporting (including ASX reporting) for junior resources companies. The due diligence work included coal, graphite and phosphate.
His geological experience has included residential site management positions in Greece (Sappes Gold Project), Namibia (Haib Copper) and Oman (Hatta/Shinas VMS), FIFO in the Philippines (Hinoba-an Copper), and project generation in Myanmar. A number of these projects were at the feasibility stage. In Australia he has worked in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia, and got his grounding as an exploration geologist with MIM Exploration in the early 1990's, working in the Georgetown Inlier and Ravenswood in North Queensland, and Copper Hill in NSW.
